JM Architecture Inc. will accept applications for the position of Senior Architectural Technologist or Intermediate Architect

 

JM Architecture Inc. is a team of professionals dedicated to excellence in design through collaboration and quality of service. Our principal design focus in architecture and interior design centers on hospitality, residential care and housing. We have extensive experience with mid-rise wood frame construction and a strong portfolio of residential and commercial projects across British Columbia and Alberta. We build lasting relationships with our clients and while each project is different, we remain consistent in our commitment to design integrity and excellence in service which are the guiding principles of our process.

 

We have immediate opening for candidates with strong communication skills who will assist in administrative and product research, production of project documentation, consultant coordination, scheduling and general office duties.

 

Minimum level of education

  • Successful completion of a 4-year architecturally focused program

Minimum experience

  • 7 years’ experience in local architectural office

Required competencies

  • Significant working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
  • Detailed working experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Rendering software: Sketchup | Rhino | 3D Max or other – please define
  • Sustainability design features – define
  • BC Energy Step Code
  • Comprehensive knowledge in all forms of construction systems and regulatory codes is essential.

Proficiency in the competency areas noted above must be demonstrated and may be tested.

 

Architectural candidates shall – in addition to the items noted above – demonstrate:

  • a strong skillset in residential and commercial design
  • professional awareness
  • be engaged, highly motivated and enthusiastic
  • knowledge of zoning and development permit requirements
  • strong knowledge of building codes requirements

 

Applicants must be registered with the AIBC or be eligible for registration in the province of British Columbia.

 

Salary will be negotiated based on experience and knowledge.  Group benefits plan available.
